Modern Dance Master Classes

From July 8 to July 16, 2013 there will be a series of modern dance master classes in one of the most known fitness clubs of Moscow – World Class, premium and luxury segments.

There is a great many of modern dances: Hip-Hop, HIP-HOP (NEW STYLE), L.A. Style, Club Dance, House, Break Dance, Street Dance , RnB, Sexy RnB, Dubstep, Ragga Dancehall, Dancehall + Queen Style, Jazz-Funk, Fashion Dance, High Heels , Waacking, Vogue, Dance Mix, Go-go, Go-go Energy, Frame Up Strip, Go-go, Lap Dance , Electro Dance, Booty Dance, Bellydance , Tribal, Lady's Dance, Solo Latina, Salsa, Zumba , Jazz-Modern, Children dances, Stretching, Wedding dance, Body-shaping, Yoga, Low body+ABT and many other types and forms of modern dances.

Whereas in the XIX century young men and young ladies to their adulthood were able to study all fashionable at that time dances and shine at balls, dancing polka, waltz, mazurka and few other dances, today it is simply impossible to master all modern dances. Modern choreography is distinguished by an unlimited variety. In this article we are going to have a short review of main styles of club dances, which elements (or completely this specific one only) are practicing dancing studios.

Disco – is a dancing style veteran. Disco was born in New York nightclubs and in the late seventies was mega popular. Disco didn't require any special skills, and therefore it was danced by everybody, even those who never visited any modern dances courses. It is possible to say that disco consists of several simple movements, little bit erotic and is somehow perfected. And practically all modern dances originated from disco.

House is an alternative to disco. It was very long time in underground and wasn't perceived as an independent direction. House is emotional, very vigorous, and active. Today it experiences revival, and therefore actually each dancing studio oriented to modern dances suggests to be trained in House.

Hip-hop (alias New Style, alias Trendy) is very popular today. Almost each capital dance studio has dance groups of this style. We gave three terms as the style name. But they do not have absolutely same meaning. Trendy is an austere hip-hop without anything additional introduced later. New Style is a boundless mix of modern dance styles. Hip-hop is based on catch and steps technique. Let's not tell here, what and how: come to our studio – you will try it yourself!

Locking is a funk style. It belongs to old school styles, and therefore today it is practiced not by each modern dancing-school. Anyway, its elements are found in more modern styles as well. Locking is based on so-called lock-movement: abrupt stop with fixing of knees and body. Locking is a Popping is a funk style too. Here most important is isolation of movements. In general it should be noted that practice of isolation of movements is an excellent training which will help you to reach perfection. When you work only a hand (or a foot) as if it is separated from body, you have to apply a lot of effort not to repeat the same movements. Here then really unique dance can be performed! Practically each modern dancing studio uses popping elements (and could one do without?).

Krumping is a real out group; actually this is a dance without analogs. Some dancers practicing modern dances in Moscow seemingly are fond of Kramping seriously and for a long time. Kramping is a quite aggressive dance with some place for mitigated styles as well. This dance was created in order that a common Afro-American could express his anger or rage, having dissipated negative emotions in most vigorous movements. In Kramping dancers actively contact with each other. From outside it looks like a fight, and it seems that if Krumping could be transferred to words, it would be a continuous effing and blinding.

Not every dancing studio for any age can brag about having groups in all modern dance styles. Just because there are dozens of them. We have listed some, but by far not most of modern dances.
