Food Fashion Parade, within the VII UD SHOW Christmas Gastronomic Festival

From November 29 to December 1 in Gostiny Dvor, at the address: 4, Ilyinka str., took place the VII "FOOD SHOW Christmas " Gastronomic Festival; the kindest, most tasty and large-scale festival of the year has opened its doors for guests to tell about Christmas culinary traditions in various countries.

The unique Food Fashion Parade on November 29 at 20:00 within official festival opening ceremony became the central event of action. For the first time in Russia at the Food Show gastronomic festival took place a unique action combining two, as it seems at first sight, incompatible things: haute couture and haute cuisine. Food Fashion parade is a display of new fashion line presented by well-known artists and fashion designers with assistance of a team of food-stylists led by Alexander Seleznev, the most known confectioner of Russia, the all-around champion on confectionery skills. For every image created by designers, confectioners are ready think up different sweet accessories: chocolate, caramel, marzipan, mastic and cookies. The fashion show subject is Magic and Holida.

Nine trend fashion designers acted along with outstanding Russian and foreign confectioners. It is the first team-work of designers and confectioners on the subject: "Magic and Holiday". The fascinating action was directed by Lyubov Grechishnikova. Journalist Alexander Abrakhimov, voice of Shokolad radio became the announcer of the show. The special guest of the fashion show was Bosson, singer from Sweden. Especially for the Food Fashion Parade project the Gostiny Dvor amphitheater turned into a real fashion show platform. At the fashion show parade took part the legendary couturier Valentin Yudashkin who presented his joint work with Alexander Seleznev, the most known confectioner in Russia. The designer Ilya Shiyan created an image in a tandem with Elena Suchkova, the winner of international competitions. And the Russian fashion designer Victoria Andreyanova invited to be her partner Wilfred Hovel, the head of Academy of Chocolate. Audience could see also dresses created by the designer Yulia Dalakian and the chief confectioner Eduard Lebedev. The image which has been thought up by designer and stylist Masha Tsigal, was completed with accessories by Alexander Chikun. For the first time in a tandem are working pastry chef Zhanna Orlova and innovator in the field of fur fashion Igor Gulyaev. The top stylist Dmitry Vinokurov and the confectioner Oleg Ilyin surprised with a variation on the festive subject. The winner of international competitions, confectioner Marat Shamshetdinov decorated the work of the ideological inspirer of the SUCCESS Fashion House Svetlana Koroleva. Nobody was left indifferent by joint creativity of the scandalous designer and stylist Max Liber with the chief confectioner Alexander Ilyukhin.

The prominent confectioners and designers entrusted show of the images to public: to Sofya Arzhakovskaya, Russian ballerina, model, Miss World 2006; to Masha Malinovskaya, well-known TV host; Oksana Fyodorova, Miss Universe 2002, Russian TV host, model; to Filippa Nyrkova, top model; Yulia Kostyushkina, TV host, and others.

So, Katya Lel came to the podium in a magnificent gold dress reaching the floor, accurately holding in her left hand a chocolate pome with silvered wreath in form of a flower. The sparkling dress was sewed for the singer by young designer Max Lieber, and the pome is a creation of the chief confectioner Alexander Ilyukhin. And Oksana Fedorova who has slightly grown plump after the second childbirth walked on the podium in a bright green dress and a pink coat kimono which was decorated with gilded chocolate clutch.

By the way, the imperial images devoted to celebrations in honor of the 400 anniversary of Romanov dynasty have so much inspired artists that crowns, scepters and pomes appeared at the fashion show several times. So, according to Victoria Andreyanova, an ideal image to welcome the oncoming year is long dress with a brocade belt with all grand-ducal attributes – crown and heraldry. However, if during festive celebrations the dress seems to the owner too heavy, it is possible to get rid easily from superfluous weight by having sent status attributes to your stomach. However, then it will be probably necessary to get rid of extra kilos. It is most probable, that wishing not to turn the New Year's holiday into a stomach holiday, rational Masha Tsigal allowed the confectioner Alexander Chikun to add to her white dress a small bouquet only. From marzipan.

Masha’s creative minimalism was supported also by the top stylist Dmitry Vinokurov who decorated the bald head of scandalous model Filippa Nyrkova with an elegant blue marzipan cop created by chocolatier Oleg Ilyin.

The star of the fashion show became bride in which image appeared ballerina Sofya Arzhakovskaya. Valentin Yudashkin has sewed for her a magnificent dress with a lacy train, from feet and to the décolleté, decorated with white marzipan flowers. The “Bride" held in her hands a bouquet of flowers of the same kind, to catch which wouldn't refuse any young girl present at the event.

However, Sofya refrained from throwing her bouquet which, by the way, is not less worth than her haute couture dress, and confined herself to an air kiss to the public met with applause.

Joint creativity of designers and confectioners has so greatly provoked appetites of the audience that to compensate sweets shortage the respectable public went at once to the food court of the gastronomic festival where chocolate fountains collected enormous queues this evening.

Colorful start opened doors of the VII FUD SHOW Gastronomic Festival, having animated creativity and Christmas atmosphere.
