Meeting "On implementation of transport infrastructure development projects in Moscow and the Moscow region": speeches of the Russian President V. Putin and Acting Mayor of Moscow S. Sobyanin

On August 12, 2013 in Odintsovo the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held meeting on implementation of transport infrastructure development projects in Moscow and the Moscow region.

Participants were: acting Governor of the Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov, Head of the Russian President Administration Sergey Ivanov, First Deputy to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov, Plenipotentiary of the Russian President in the Central Federal District Alexander Beglov, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Maxim Sokolov, acting Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, President of Russian Railways Vladimir Yakunin.

Prior to the beginning of meeting Vladimir Putin examined bypass highway under construction around Odintsovo which will allow to open unhampered flow of traffic from MKAD to Minskoye Highway.

"For us this road is important because the Odintsovo region is the most densely populated one," - was told Vladimir Putin by Andrey Vorobyov.

The Central Ring Highway became one of the main projects discussed during meeting. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation suggested acceleration of its construction. Works are planned to be completed in the fall 2018. Total cost of the road amounts to about 300 billion rubles.

According to Andrey Vorobyyov, after TsKAD (Central Ring Highway) construction the gross regional product could grow twice, "For the Moscow region this is doubling of the Gross Regional Product, for us it is very serious possibility of creation of additional workplaces, taxes."

The first stage of TsKAD is planned to be completed in the second half 2016 – turn of 2017.

As Andrey Vorobyov noted, in a year the first stage of the new Moscow-St. Petersburg highway will be opened for traffic.

Vladimir Putin referred to modernization of the suburban traffic of the Moscow transport hub as federal priority for the next five to six years: "It is necessary to provide construction of the main and additional railways for the suburban traffic". This infrastructure project becomes one of the largest in the world - the passenger traffic will grow from 600 million passengers a year to 900 million passengers. Vladimir Putin focused attention on construction of modern overpasses.
